About Jazan's Climate

Jazan is a coastal city in Saudi Arabia's far south-west, perched on the Red Sea near the Yemeni border, and it's one of the most humid and near-tropical places in the Kingdom. Temperatures stay high year-round; July and August highs run 34–38°C (93–100°F), but coastal humidity often above 75 percent pushes the real-feel well past those readings. Winters are genuinely warm rather than cool — January daytime averages sit around 29°C, and residents rarely experience anything that counts as cold. Rainfall is heavier here than almost anywhere else in Saudi Arabia and arrives in two waves: light spring showers between March and May, and a more substantial summer burst in July and August driven by south-westerly flow, sometimes paired with thunderstorms spilling down from the Fayfa mountains. The best travel window is November through February. Practical tip: steady hydration and loose cotton are essentials in summer, and avoid prolonged sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. even in spring.
