About Khobar's Climate

Khobar sits on the Gulf shore next to Dammam and shares the same hot, humid coastal profile. Summers are long and taxing — daytime highs between July and August typically land in the 40–45°C (104–113°F) range, and nights stay uncomfortably warm because the shallow Gulf stores and re-releases heat after sunset. Peak-summer pre-dawn humidity can exceed 80 percent, sending thin sea mist rolling along the Corniche. Winters are genuinely mild; January daytime averages sit near 18°C and occasional northerly winds make waterfront evenings pleasantly cool. Early-summer shamal winds kick up dust, and what little rain the city sees arrives as scattered winter showers between December and March. The best outdoor stretch — jogging, café terraces, Corniche events — runs November through April. Practical tip: favour evening plans near the waterfront in winter, and avoid parking in open lots at midday in summer, because cabin temperatures behind the windshield can climb well past 70°C.
